Lasso – “El Exilio Voluntario De Una Mente Saturada” (2017)

Lasso came on our radar this time last year with the single, “Diferente.” We reviewed it as well as along with his first album. Now, the boy is back with a brand new album under Universal Music. The title is barely long enough to fit on our title section of our blog. El Exilio Voluntario De Una Mente Saturada.

When we last left Lasso, the single “Diferente” was pretty fresh and a much more grown up sound than his debut album. Now that the full album is out, we can hear that he continued with a similar sound. El Exilio Voluntario De Una Mente Saturada is an extremely solid and a well-rounded album. Lasso keeps the listener entranced with upbeat tracks. Each song is classic pop with a hint of a rock edge to them. It takes him until the tenth song to provide us with a ballad that sounds like an acoustic violin and guitar solo with the track, “Sin Mover Un Dedo.”

Lasso’s El Exilio Voluntario De Una Mente Saturada is a fun summer pop album.

Each of the songs is a fun little ditty; it’s like a summer party when you listen to it as a whole. Lasso knows how to bring pop music to the audience without having to influence it with urban sounds that many of the most popular pop artists are doing today. The track, “Diferente,” is still one of the best songs from the album but as a whole, the album is complete and super fun. Lasso’s vocals are high and a little scratchy, but gives him a unique sound that I think gives him a little more of an edge.

I truly believe that with the correct promotion, Lasso and this album can become the summer pop album. Lasso’s album El Exilio Voluntario De Una Mente Saturada is available on digital and streaming platforms for your enjoyment. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
