MIAMI (August 5, 2016) – Bomba Estéreo has announced a U.S. & Latin America Fall tour in support of their GRAMMY-nominated album Amanecer. The group recently completed an explosive European tour hitting many of the most important summer festivals from London to Denmark.
The album Amanecer landed in many “Best of 2015” lists including Rolling Stone (as the only Latin album in the Top 50), Billboard, NPR and iTunes. It was recently certified Gold in Colombia. The album also received two Latin GRAMMY nominations last fall. Bomba performed their hit “Fiesta” on the Las Vegas awards show alongside hip-hop and cinema icon Will Smith, who was inspired to return to music for a new remix collaboration on the song.
Amanecer is an expansion of the band’s musical spectrum while staying true to its trademark electro-tropical sound. Pairing with producer Ricky Reed of the Oakland hip-hop/pop collective Wallpaper, singer Liliana Saumet and multi-instrumentalist Simon Mejía delivered their most colorful album yet.
“Bomba has found its musical identity, defined both by Liliana’s unique vocals and our tropical fusion sound,” Mejia says. “The colors may change, but the essence has stayed the same. On this album, there are more electronic elements and more defined melodies. It’s a truly global album.”
