Luis Alberto Spinetta Previously Unreleased Material

SpinettaMIAMI (December 11, 2015) – The highly anticipated album Spinetta Los Amigo, featuring all-new material, is available now in digital format.

This collection of songs was recorded by the trio known as Los Amigo – Luis Alberto Spinetta on guitar and lead vocals, Rodolfo García on drums, and Daniel Ferrón on bass. Recording sessions took place on March 4-5, 2011, at La Diosa Salvaje studios in Buenos Aires. These never before released songs were recorded “live in the studio” with all three musicians playing together in one take. Spinetta served as director and producer, with Mariano López serving as recording engineer.

Five of the songs were written by Spinetta, with two instrumental compositions collectively credited to the trio Los Amigo. In October 2015, these recordings received additional production, plus mixing and mastering, by López. Involved in every step of the process were Luis Alberto Spinetta’s children – Dante, Catarina, Valentino and Vera – along with his Los Amigo collaborators García and Ferrón.

Keyboards and additional sonic effects were contributed by Juan Carlos “Mono” Fontana on the song “Bagualerita,” and by Claudio Cardone on “Canción del Lugar.” Both musicians have worked with Spinetta on his earlier projects. Cardone also wrote string arrangements for “Iris” which were performed by the Kashmir Orchestra of Buenos Aires. Valentino Spinetta plays Rhodes electric piano on “Río Como Loco,” the hidden track that closes out Spinetta Los Amigo.

Spinetta Los Amigo is a historic work, representing this towering artist’s final contribution to the culture of his country, Argentina.
